How to delete a Vetsy or Vetsy Partners account, and what happens to your data.

In the application

VetsyProfile → Edit profile → Delete account
Vetsy PartnersProfile → Delete account

Without the application

A confirmation link will be sent to the email address on the account. The account is deactivated once the link is opened and is deleted 30 days later. Signing in during that period cancels the deletion.

What happens to your data

Deleted

  • Profile: name, email address, mobile number, address and photograph
  • Animals and their complete health records
  • Prescriptions and dose logs
  • Consultation notes
  • Vetsy AI conversations
  • Notification settings

Retained

  • Payment records (date, amount and status), without name, address or animal details, for the period required by tax and accounting law, presently up to eight years

Veterinarians

On the deletion of a Vetsy Partners account, the profile, photograph, mobile number, service area, bank account details, council registration certificate and masked Aadhaar are deleted. Clinical records created by the veterinarian (prescriptions, vaccinations and visit notes) remain part of the relevant health records, as pet owners rely on them, and continue to show the veterinarian’s name and registration number. Payout records are retained for the period required by tax law.
